The number of cyberattacks on Russian businesses in 2023 increased by 50-55% compared to last year, they have become significantly more complex, noted Vladimir Maslov, Director of the Digital Technologies Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia, in his speech at Infoforum. First of all, the actions of attackers are aimed at large businesses, but medium and small enterprises suffer from their consequences.
He recalled that fresh operational information about incidents is published in the bulletins of the FSTEC of Russia. The expert complained that
Information security systems in content writing service
government structures are well established, but in business they are still in their infancy
Despite the fact that the Ministry of Digital Development has compiled a unified database of all business needs for IT solutions, about 40 Western programs do not yet have Russian analogues.
Vladimir Maslov, Chamber of Commerce and Industry:
– At a meeting at the Central Bank, a number of large banks proposed postponing the transition to domestic software from 2025 to 2027, because automated banking systems are not ready to work with Russian software.
Deputy Governor of the Tula Region Galina Yakushkina in her speech spoke about the work of the region's information protection system, as well as about the Governor's Situation Center, on the basis of which round-the-clock monitoring of events is organized. The region is actively switching to domestic general system and application software, she noted.
According to the Deputy General Director of Garda Technologies, Rustem Khairutdinov,
The experience of government agencies in organizing cyber defense is not always suitable for small and medium businesses
According to him, digitalization has primarily affected large companies in the financial sector, as well as the telecom industry. Accordingly, they have the most advanced information security systems.
Rustem Khayretdinov, "Garda Technologies":
– Federal authorities with digital systems with millions of users (Tax Service, Gosuslugi) are also keeping up with the leaders of digitalization in the private sector. Regional systems may differ in their digital maturity and cybersecurity maturity from federal and commercial structures. They have fewer functions and fewer users.
Until recently, information security was not a priority for small and medium businesses. In addition, these organizations use imported IT services more. Therefore, the experience of protecting government systems is not always relevant for business, the expert concluded.
